We built the RadRover to go anywhere and do anything. Now, it’s designed to fit anyone.
Introducing the RadRover Step-Thru, a low-step electric fat bike that combines the rugged look and capabilities of our flagship model with a new frame style that meets the needs of all riders.
With a lower standover height and less distance between you and the handlebars, the RadRover Step-Thru makes it easier than ever to get on and get going -- all without sacrificing the power, strength, and durability that made the RadRover, its inspiration, North America’s best-selling electric fat bike.
Made from a layer of aramid and ceramic particles inside the tire under the tread, the Kenda K-Shield integrated tire liner is a line of defense designed to provide extra protection against punctures from thorns, glass, and other small materials.
7-Speed, 11-34 Tooth Freewheel
A wider range of gearing at your disposal means more torque for treacherous uphill climbs and maintain pedal authority at top speed.

What to Measure
Your “real inseam” -- or inside leg length -- is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.
This will typically be an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but you’ll want to measure to be sure.
You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.
How to Measure
Gather the tools needed:
- Medium-width hardcover book
- Tape measure
- A wall you can stand against
- A trusted friend or relative
Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).
Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable -- and safer! -- than trying to ride a bike that is too big.
If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.
A fuel gauge for your electrons.
Pedal Assist Level
The higher the number, the more the motor will boost you when you pedal.
5V, 1 Amp port to charge your phone or portable electronics on the go.
Calculate how many miles you didn't drive this year and how much money you saved on gas.
Can be set to current speed, max speed, or average speed.
Shows how much power the motor is outputting at any given time.
The Rad Battery Pack
With over a decade of designing and building ebikes under our belts, we know that a high-capacity battery like this isn’t something you cheap out on. We designed and built our batteries using genuine Samsung 35E cells, which are some of the most energy-dense and reliable lithium-ion cells on the market today. These cells have allowed us to build an overall better battery, and at only 7.7 lb, it's one of the lightest and most energy-dense packs on any electric bike.

Compact, Discreet, Maintenance-Free Hub Motor
With 750W and 80 Nm of torque at your disposal, this Bafang geared hub motor is what is going to help power you up steep inclines and get you up to top speed quickly from a dead stop, all while remaining quiet and inconspicuous. These kinds of numbers aren't even found on some of the most expensive mid drive systems out there, so prepare to outperform and outclass everyone you see on the road.

"This is one of the only step-thru fat tire electric bikes I’ve seen, and it’s done really well. Rad Power Bikes custom engineers their frames and puts a lot of attention into the details..."
Looking for something more traditional?
The RadRover 5 is a great option if you want many of the same features as the RadRover Step-Thru but with a high step frame.
the streets of New Orleans can be quite challenging when attempting to navigate said streets in what ever vehicle you may be operating...my children chided me for NOT having a fat tire...now that i have one, they are green with envy...
So I wanted to move ... physically that is ! I thought I’m going to look at e bikes and found my way to rad!! funny thing ...my husband said to me one day hey I want you to check out this bike I saw ..guess what ? It was a rad power bike and we had not talked together about these bikes before hand!!After doing our homework we made final decisions ...a rad city step thru for me ,a rad rover step thru for him!! My bike arrived first.. we worked on it for a few hours with a few minor “disagreements”....lol ...and as I stood there with my bike I thought wow !!!this thing is a beast!!! It was intimidating at first sight as I stood there holding onto it and when it was fully together ...now after riding and getting to know my bike ... it’s pretty much my sweet rad ride!!! I so recommend the step thru version if you have hip knee or a foot issue and you won’t have any worries about lifting your leg to get on .. I also figured to tilt my bike towards me to lower it a few more inches to make the slip thru for my foot easier... i love my E bike and found it only took me a few rides through the neighborhood to get comfortable on it! We are searching for a rack so that we can travel around and find a few Cool places to ride ... I think you will be happy with the rad city step thru altho I’d love to try the other models just to see how they feel and ride .. I did purchase a new seat . I needed a softer cushy ride . Also looking to purchase a basket for the back ! ....looking forward to More fun and riding all over Florida !!!
I originally purchased a 2019 Rad Rover. At 5’ 7” this bike was just too tall. I sold it to a taller friend. The new Step-Thru is perfect for my size, much easier to get on and off, and the shorter frame geometry provides a more comfortable ride. One other point is the motor is much quieter, not sure why, but it is.
As I ride my bike (Radrover Step Thru) almost daily, I like biking by others on the trails who look, smile and shout out "neat bike." This bikes battery will take me further than the 26-48 mile claim in the bike's description. However!! The bike seat that comes with the bike is terrible. Other Rad owners I have met have all replaced theirs. I will be replacing mine as it hurts the butt.
Great bike, easy to assemble and great quality. Would recommend this bike to anyone. Love it
Awesome bike. However the magnetic sensor for the pedal assist went bad on day 3. The problem was solved at no cost and I've been ridin' Rad for over 200 miles and counting. Average 10-15 miles every evening. 30 miles the longest so far with 2 "battery bars" left on display. You gotta try e-biking!
totally unmountable from an assisted rolling start.nightmare
What a great ride. Way more comfortable than the Rad City I had and my wifes Rad Mini Step Thru. I am really enjoying this ride.
The size and weight of this impressive electric bike is intimidating. I’m glad there is the throttle as it helps me get started. I have a lot of starting and stopping in my use and it’s weight makes it difficult.
I am a very avid bicyclist and have four bikes, road bike, mountain bike, fat tire bike and now the Rover.. But once I received my Rad Rover, it is the only one I care to ride! And I am doubling my daily distance. So happy with this purchase!
